In the Secondary School, students aged 12-16 years consolidate skills and follow a modified curriculum delivery model.
This curriculum is based on the Australian Curriculum in Victoria (AusVELS) and adapted to meet each student’s needs and learning style.
Use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is incorporated across the curriculum. Laptop computers, interactive whiteboards, switch adapted equipment and personal communication devices provide students with appropriate and engaging learning tools.
Integrated Studies topics ensure that the Science, Humanities and Design curriculum is motivating and age appropriate. Topics change on a 4 year cycle resulting in themes that are new and varied.
In the Senior School there is a strong emphasis on social skills and personal development. Students are able to participate in sex education, drug awareness, safe behaviours and co-operative games.
All students participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, gaining new skills and participating in the community.
Weekly community access trips, excursions and camps ensure that Secondary School students are transferring and practising the skills learned at school.
