Parents and Volunteers - Glenallen School

Parents

Parents’ knowledge, views and experiences of their child are unique. At Glenallen School parents are encouraged to be involved with every part of their child’s education.
Parents are valued members of the class team, assisting in the development of their child’s Individual Learning Plan.

The Glenallen Club (Parents and Friends)

The Glenallen Club is a parents group consisting of Glenallen parents, carers and friends. Members of the Glenallen Club meet regularly, providing informal support and sharing ideas and experiences. The support provided to new families is highly valued. The group also participate in fundraising activities throughout the school year.

Volunteers

This volunteer assists in the school library.

One of our wonderful volunteers in the school library.

We value the assistance provided by volunteers and community partners.

Volunteers may work in the classroom, working one to one with students under the direction of a member of the classroom team. We particularly need help in our swimming programs where most students require one to one assistance.

Volunteers may choose to participate in other areas of the school such as garden maintenance and working bees. Parents and carers are most welcome to participate in all aspects of school programs. All volunteers are required to have a current Working with Children Check (WWC).

Free training in the form of Lifting and Meal Assistance workshops are provided twice per term.
