The wide range of accessible, digital technologies at our school ensure that every student can participate meaningfully in learning. These are embedded across all classrooms and subject areas, forming part of everyday lessons as well as specialist programs.
Students are taught to use a range of assistive technologies to access digital devices. This includes switches, joysticks, eye gaze or voice control to operate different types of software and hardware, supporting access to learning, creativity and problem solving.
In specialist digital technologies lessons, students explore robotics, coding and electronics. Robots that work with switches and eye gaze provide accessible ways to understand cause and effect, sequencing and coding. Interactive tools such as floor projectors, VR headsets and environmental control systems create multisensory opportunities that encourage active participation and engagement.
A strong emphasis is also placed on eSafety. Students learn safe online behaviours, develop an understanding of digital citizenship, and practise using technology responsibly as part of their learning.
Students also have access to advanced equipment including a 3D printer, laser cutter and Cricut. These resources allow them to design, create and test ideas in practical, engaging ways, linking learning to real world digital practices.
Together, these technologies give every learner accessible and meaningful ways to engage with the digital world.
